Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi are proud to sponsor Ngā Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua o Aotearoa 2026. Supporting secondary school kapa haka across Aotearoa.

Te Tawharau o Ngā Waka is the National Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition, representing the highest expression of rangatahi Māori performing arts in Aotearoa. This prestigious kaupapa brings together the top qualifying kura from every rohe to stand on the national stage, carrying the mana of their whānau, hapū, iwi, and communities.

Mataatua Waka are hosting this year's event in Tauranga Moana providing a national platform for rangatahi to demonstrate excellence, leadership, and pride in their identity. This event is not merely a competition — it is a living expression of Te Ao Māori, a celebration of iwi narratives, and a reaffirmation of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of our rangatahi.

Monday 29 June - Event pōhiri
