Graduation Update March 2022
GRADUATION UPDATE 2022
Graduation should be a celebration, in which whānau and loved ones come together to celebrate the achievements of our tauira.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and in the interests of providing certainty, we have decided to move our graduation celebrations until later in the year.
We know this news may be disappointing for some, but our priority is keeping graduates, our kaimahi and our manuhiri safe. As the Omicron variant continues to move through the motu, and with restricted gathering sizes, we feel we cannot safely host graduation in the immediate future.
But we are looking to the future now and want to include tauira as we make plans to celebrate all their commitment, hard mahi and remarkable achievements, and ensure we can properly recognise their tohu.
We will run an online survey in the coming weeks to get graduates’ whakaaro about moving forward with a date in October and understand what is most important to our tauira about receiving tohu and celebrating this important occasion. A link will be emailed to our affected graduates.
From there, we will consider their views and decide the next steps, including a potential date for a future ceremony. A final decision is expected to be made in May 2022 and will be shared with you shortly after. If you have any pātai about this, please do not hesitate to email graduation@wananga.ac.nz.
To our graduands: Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for choosing to complete your qualification at Awanuiārangi.
