The School of Iwi Development is looking for two Lecturers with a relevant water science diploma or higher qualification, and/or equivalent relevant work experience in the field of water resource use as it pertains to whanau, hapū, iwi or community resource use and Kaitiakitanga.

 

You will be:

·         Passionate about water as it pertains to whānau, hapū, and iwi

·         Connected to your marae within a specific rohe

 

In this position you will recruit tauira for the Certificate of Wai Ora level 3, or level 4, and deliver either level 3 or level 4 of the programme.  Ideally you may be available to start mid-May 2026 with the programme due to commence in July.  Position location is open for negotiation.

The programme has mixed mode delivery including practicum, online tutorials, classroom activities, eLearning, assessment and evaluation, and Wānanga/marae based noho marae.

 

Candidates with the following are encouraged to apply: 

·         Adult teaching experience, and an adult teaching qualification.

·         A diploma relevant to water science or equivalent relevant work experience in the field of water resource use as it pertains to whanau, hapū iwi or community resource use and Kaitiakitanga. 

·         Experience in the delivery of the prescribed Certificate in Wai Ora programme.    

·         Networks with one or more marae, and with iwi, hapū, whanau and/or community groups.

 

Knowledge of tikanga Māori, and at least intermediate level Te Reo Māori skills.
