We are seeking a part time Lecturer to join our Bachelor of Humanities team and assist student learning by teaching in the specific discipline area of mihingare studies within the Bachelor of Humanities degree.  Applicants with an interest in critical and social theory and who hold a teaching qualification will do well in this position.

 

Your primary responsibility will be to plan and implement quality teaching and learning experiences for students.  This will include setting relevant, appropriate and timely assessments, and providing academic support and pastoral care, with a strong focus on student success and achievement. 

 

As a significant component of the programme is delivered online, so you will have experience and a passion for digital and blended learning.

 

The successful candidate(s) will have:

·         A minimum of a Masters’ degree relevant to the field of Mihingare Studies, Indigenous Studies and/or Māori Studies.

·         Previous tertiary teaching experience to Bachelor degree level.

·         An adult teaching qualification.

·         Experience in delivery of the prescribed courses and programmes, specifically Mihingare Studies, Indigenous Studies, and Te Reo and tikanga. 

·         Proven research experience.

 

Knowledge of tikanga Māori, the ability to kōrero Te Reo Māori to at least intermediate level is required.
