Appendices to the Journals of the House of Representatives
- The Appendix to the Journals of the House of Representatives (AJHR), sometimes known as "the A to Js", is a collection of government-related reports published every year from 1858. The reports cover many subjects, documenting the work of government departments and a wide range of other activities carried out by, or of interest to, the government of the day. The AJHR is one of the most valuable tools for understanding how New Zealand has developed from its earliest colonial beginnings to the present. It provides a wealth of information for researchers working across many fields.
- Broadsheet was a leading voice of the local women’s movement and was produced by the Auckland-based Broadsheet Collective from July 1972 to July 1997. It covered wide-ranging national and international concerns, including women’s rights, sexuality, Māori sovereignty, health, crime, politics, class, abortion and arts and literature. Broadsheet has been digitised by the University of Auckland’s Libraries and Learning Services and is now publicly available online.

Journal of Indigenous Social Development
- This journal is committed to advancing education, practice, research and policy making relevant to indigenous peoples’ social and economic wellbeing. JISD is a peer-reviewed journal published exclusively in open-access electronic form.
Journal of Indigenous Wellbeing
- The Journal of Indigenous Wellbeing is a peer-reviewed, open-access, scholarly online journal that shares multi-disciplinary indigenous knowledge and research experience amongst indigenous health professionals, leaders, researchers and community members. The journal publishes original, informative and scholarly articles on the broadly defined topic of indigenous wellbeing.
Journal of New Zealand Studies
- The Journal of New Zealand Studies is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal published by the Stout Research Centre for New Zealand Studies. From 2014 onwards the JNZS will be published on-line twice a year, in June and December. Prospective articles are welcome from any discipline. They should have a New Zealand focus, or be comparative with a strong New Zealand element.
- A fully refereed journal for early childhood educators, He Kupu is a free online journal published twice a year by New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC). NZTC aims to develop an inclusive, critical, collaborative and informed community of early childhood professionals – including the research and views of academics, practitioners and students.
He Muka - Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori
- He Muka is the digital magazine of the Commission, incorporating the Commission's events, new terminology coined by the Commission and other important issues relating to the Māori language. The main objective is to provide a publication written entirely in Māori language of the highest quality, specifically targeted at fluent speakers.

Kōtuitui: New Zealand Journal of Social Sciences [Online]
Kōtuitui: New Zealand Journal of Social Sciences Online aims to showcase the increasing number of individual and collaborative research endeavours across the social sciences. The Māori name ‘Kōtuitui’ means ‘interweaving’, and reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the journal. Although it is of particular relevance to New Zealand, and its social research community, as a multidisciplinary social sciences journal, Kōtuitui covers subject matter of widespread relevance and interest to social researchers across the globe.
- MAI Journal is an open access journal that publishes multidisciplinary peer-reviewed articles that critically analyse and address indigenous and Pacific issues in the context of Aotearoa New Zealand. MAI Journal publishes two issues per year, the first in May and the second in December. MAI Journal is only published online. The aim is to publish scholarly articles that substantively engage with intellectual indigenous scholarship.

New Zealand College of Midwives Journal
- The New Zealand College of Midwives Journal uses an electronic article-based publishing approach to publication and provides free electronic access to all published papers. Within electronic article-based publishing the editors build each issue as an “issue in progress” from papers that have been submitted and accepted for publication. Once an issue is complete, it is printed. This approach supports faster publication and wider accessibility to our papers. The Journal is printed in full and circulated to our members in December each year. ISSN: 1178-3893

- This website lets you search and browse all 76 issues of the magazine Te Ao Hou The New World. Te Ao Hou was published from 1952 to 1976 by the Maori Affairs Department in New Zealand Aotearoa. According to its first editorial, Te Ao Hou aimed "to provide interesting and informative reading for Maori homes … like a marae on paper, where all questions of interest to the Maori can be discussed." Te Ao Hou features bilingual content, with articles in both English and te reo Maori.
Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand
The Transactions contain the papers read before the member societies and the Proceedings record the business of the Royal Society and its affiliates.
- Tuhinga is a peer-reviewed academic journal, which publishes results of Te Papa’s original scientific and cultural research, research on Te Papa’s collections, and related matters.
Victoria University of Wellington Legal Research Papers
- Victoria University of Wellington Legal Research Papers is an abstracting e-Journal that contains scholarly papers published or to be published by the Faculty of Law at Victoria University of Wellington. Each issue of the e-Journal contains abstracts to several scholarly papers with links to full text. Some issues include mainly recent work. Others collect a number of papers on a similar theme to form a suite of papers on a single topic.
Waikato Journal of Education [Online Journal]
- The Waikato Journal of Education is a well-regarded peer-reviewed journal. Since the first publication in 1995, the journal has made a major contribution to the scholarship on a wide range of topics in the field of education, particularly issues connected to curriculum, learning, and teaching. Papers have included reports on educational research and practice and viewpoints on education policies, theories, and practices. Issues often have a special focus.
